Safety
There is no such thing as a crime free neighborhood. Studies have shown that visible police presence merely displaces criminal activity rather than prevent it. One cannot expect to have a police presence 24 hours a day/7 days a week. It is therefore incumbent on each individual in Pelican Point to educate themselves, families, and friends on how to reduce the chances of becoming a crime victim. Please read the tips prepared by the Pelican Point HOA about burglary, vehicle, and golf cart protection.
You can help keep our neighborhood safe by reporting street lights that are out and reporting holes in the road that can be unsafe to drivers and pedestrians.
Thank you for helping to keep Pelican Point a safe place to live.
The Pelican Point Homeowners Association has developed an emergency notification system for its residents. The Pelican Point Emergency Alert System (PPEAS) will be used to notify residents in case of a natural disaster or any other emergency that may threaten people living in Pelican Point. Please sign up for this free service. After you sign up, you will be notified by text message or email in case of an emergency or road flooding/closure in the neighborhood. Hopefully, you will never hear from us, but please sign up today! Just in case!
Ascension Parish has launched a new Mass Notification service through Everbridge, The Ascension Parish Community Alerting System. This system allows AP Homeland Security to alert you of emergency situations, government news, and events. You can opt-in to enter your contact information and subscribe to notification(s) you care about based on your location. The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose.
